I’ve created a Binaural Beat Example (Demo) on this page for you to test and learn more about how they operate. For optimum listening enjoyment, I recommend using a headset.
The dominant EEG (Electroencephalogram) frequencies of the human brain can be influenced by external stimuli. This is called the Frequency-Following Response (FFR). When a certain frequency is presented to the brain it will synchronize and become in tune with that frequency. This is why certain music or sounds can have such a great effect on our emotions, mood, and mental state. So in order to reach a desired state of consciousness (such as sleeping, dreaming, being happy, energetic, relaxing, learning, etc.) all you have to do is listen to the frequency that is associated with that state for an extended period of time.
How Does Brainwave Music Work (Binaural)
When dealing with harmonics and frequency we find that we (humans) are unable to hear frequencies below 20hz (this can vary from person to person, as some people can hear as low as 16hz, but 20hz is the standard average). With that stated we can know through EEG that the most powerful brainwave frequencies in the human mind are below 20Hz. So through the use of binaural beats, we are able to overcome our frequency limitations.
These frequencies entrain your brainwaves by presenting two different audible frequencies in each ear. The superior olivary nucleus in each hemisphere of the brain integrates and perceives the difference between the two signals as a single tone, which is below the frequency range of the human ear (i.e. 10Hz).
Binaural Demo
Let us assume that you want to entrain your brainwaves at a frequency (resonate) of 10hz (Great for increased learning and memory retention).
If you play 315Hz in the left ear, while simultaneously playing 325Hz in the right ear, both hemispheres of the brain will combine the sounds into a single tone which the brain will slowly begin to entrain to. This creates amazing opportunities to utilize the full power of our minds by putting our brainwaves into optimum performing states.
Binaural Beat Note: Binaural beats are arranged with the intent to create a unique frequency for the listener through the use of headphones. Binaural will not translate properly over stereo speakers.
Binaural Audio Demo | ||
This demo is designed to be listened to over stereo headphones. It will not work over loudspeakers. Also, some individuals will have difficulty hearing the effect, particularly if they have a history of ear problems in either ear which may interfere with binaural hearing.
Demo Instructions: Immediately below you will see 2 play buttons. The button on the left will play a 325Hz tone in the left speaker (10 ms) and the one on the right will play a 315Hz tone in the right speaker (10 ms). Once they are playing together you will hear the third tone (heartbeat) which in our case is a 10Hz binaural beat. I have designed the demo so you can play both tones separately or simultaneously. Just hit play and listen with headsets. |

325Hz 10ms Tone (Left Speaker Only) | 315Hz 10ms Tone (Right Speaker Only)
325Hz 10ms (L) & 315Hz 10ms (R)
The sample below is a combination of the two other recordings above. The results of 325hz and 315hz created the 3rd beat of 10hz. |
